The challenge was to deliver cinematic-quality visuals for Penny & Flo characters, designed for high-impact social media posts on Facebook and Instagram, while seamlessly integrating multiple production pipelines. AI-generated backgrounds were first created using MidJourney, followed by character pose generation, custom outfit modeling, texturing, and lighting.

From a lead perspective, the core complexity was ensuring full visual coherence between AI-generated environments and handcrafted 3D characters. This involved precise alignment of scale, perspective, materials, and lighting—adapting the character lighting to match the illumination logic of the AI-generated backgrounds and avoid the typical visual disconnect between AI and traditional 3D assets.

The final stage focused on image integration and polish, combining Photoshop compositing with generative AI tools to refine details, enhance cohesion, and achieve a cinematic yet platform-optimized result. The goal was not only technical integration, but clear artistic direction—using AI as a creative accelerator while maintaining full authorship, consistency, and production-level quality throughout the final images.
