The Challenge
This project was developed for AMD and originated from an initial concept and architectural sketch, exploring a futuristic architectural language inspired by the work of Santiago Calatrava. The goal was to design a sculptural, expressive structure adapted to a virtual event dome, conceived as a landmark space for brand-driven digital experiences.
The architecture was fully conceptualized and modeled in 3ds Max, with a strong focus on fluid forms, structural elegance, and spatial harmony. The design aimed to balance futuristic aesthetics with architectural logic, translating Calatrava-inspired principles into a digital environment aligned with AMD’s technological identity. Final imagery was refined through Photoshop compositing, enhancing mood, scale, and visual impact.
Years later, the project was revisited and reimagined from a new perspective. Using the original assets as a foundation, the dome was redesigned and placed in a completely different environment, this time rebuilt, integrated, and fully animated in Unreal Engine. The new iteration focused on real-time rendering, cinematic presentation, and spatial immersion, transforming the original concept into a dynamic, explorable experience.
This project reflects a full creative and technical evolution from early concept design and offline visualization to modern real-time workflows demonstrating long-term ownership of the idea, adaptability of assets, and a deep understanding of both architectural design and real-time production pipelines.

CONCEPTUAL SKETCHES & STRUCTURAL DESIGN
The initial design phase began with hand-drawn sketches, exploring the structural and aesthetic foundations of a futuristic and sustainable architectural concept. These sketches focused on defining the overall form, structural logic, and visual identity of the project, combining expressive architecture with functional engineering principles.
Special attention was given to structural detailing, material transitions, and load distribution, ensuring that the design remained visually lightweight while structurally coherent. A central element of the concept was the integration of a wind turbine system, conceived as both an architectural feature and a functional component responsible for generating the dome’s entire energy supply.
ASSETS UVs OPTIMIZATION AND LAYOUT
UV optimization and layout in Maya for a low-poly asset, focusing on efficient texel density, minimal shell fragmentation, and optimal UV space usage. A clean and consistent layout was created, avoiding stretching and unwanted overlaps, with properly oriented shells to support texturing and baking workflows. The process was designed with real-time performance in mind, balancing visual quality and resource efficiency, aligned with game and interactive visualization pipelines.
